I know I haven’t been around lately but I can say that I have started the revision phase for my novel…
Re-read it all (190 pages read) and I took notes on what I want to add….
Now I am prepping for the re-write process that I have made for myself…
So ready to bring this novel to life…

Sorry I have been MIA for a while. The holidays are catching up with me and this pregnancy is REALLY getting me!
Great news!
I finished NaNoWriMo and finished my novel!
The Gray Ones, Draft 1 is in the done and I am so happy. Feels good to complete a novel and feel so passionate about it.
Right now, I am letting it rest this month and I will be starting revision one January 1st!
In the meantime, I am writing Daily Blends on my blog and practicing query writing (the part that I am not really looking forward to.) I am also looking for agents looking for my genre of writing…so I am keeping myself busy, at least trying to lol!

My novel is completed!
Thanks to NaNoWriMo, The Gray Ones has been completed! The competition is not over yet, so I am using these last few days to add more detail to my story and more of a backstory for some of the characters!
A lot of people has been asking me when I plan to do next….
Well, it’s simple:
After the competition is done, I will be putting The Gray Ones on a rest period….I will be spending the next month either doing writing contests and/or posting new daily blends!
The Gray Ones and I will regroup in January, where I start the editing process and begin searching for an agent!
So far this journey has been rough….I have had ups and downs; however; I’m focused and ready to make the moves needed to get where I want to be!

November 4th, 2011….I chopped it off.
I said goodbye to the vanity and hello to me.
The transformation has begun and the fear held me but I broke free of the chains and welcomed me, like a newborn child into the world.

FROM MY OTHER BLOG- I cut my hair :) FELT GREAT! Just like my husband said, “It’s just hair, baby.”
Words cannot describe how much a of a crush my little heart had on this guy when I was a kid. Seriously. So it broke my heart when they watered down not only his role but his character as a whole in the X men movies. He was one of the major players in the cartoon. They minimized him so much I felt I had been cheated.
I loved Gambit! He was so sexy and that accent was just amazing!
Day 24!
NaNoWriMo started just 2 days ago and I am feeling very good! So far, I am at a total word count of 6116 words!
I did 3386 on first day and 2730 on the second day!
I am just excited to finally get this story out of me and I really want to share this with the world.
So it’s technically day 17 (Yeah, I finally got my days in order lol!)
I have spent most of my time working on the plot of the Gray Ones and just last week (Thurs, Fri and Sat) I spent the entire 3 days in a workshop, where I met some great writers!
The workshop focused on creating strong characters and having a solid plot.
I was fearful about sharing my story with people I did not know, but it was worth it!
A lot of my colleagues really liked the concept of my story and they loved my main character…..I do too. Daniel was modeled after my son. Even though my son is only 4 years old, I can already see the headstrong man that he will become.
I have even started thinking about a sequel to the first book….
But I will not count my chickens before they hatch.
I already have something written but I plan to really let loose November 1st! NaNoWriMo is here (almost) and I am so excited. Speaking of which I need to get my profile up for that too!
The Gray Ones is a very personal story to me. It’s a story that I wanted to write to break into fiction and to challenge the roles and characters played by African Americans and other ethnic backgrounds.
I am so ready to share this tale of family, destiny and love with the masses!
Yay me!
